I enjoy the Haiku format of poetry ever since I was introduced to it in 5th grade. I wonder if they still teach this in grade school. If not, that is sad. Even though Haiku’s are more traditionally focused on nature, mine are more focused on my current fight with cancer. One in which I am more than confidant that I will win. And now I present you my Haikus from today;
My drug cisplatin Killer of cancerous cells Take heed my body
Slow drip of the drugs Slowly entering my body Slowly killing me
Cancer invaded My body was not prepared Victory is mine
Being ill is hard Not able to work or play New priorities
New morning new day All old things will go away Adventure awaits
